Privacy Policy
ClassPilot helps parents track children’s classes, leave-by reminders, attendance, and fee records.
Who the app is for
ClassPilot is a parent and guardian tool. Parents and guardians manage the household account. Children do not create ClassPilot accounts with email, Apple, or Google.
A parent may optionally pair a device (for example a tablet) to a single child profile so that child can view their own schedule and open meeting links the parent saved. Pairing uses a parent-generated one-time code or QR. Revoking the pair ends that device’s access without deleting the whole family.
Data we store
Depending on how you use the app, we may store:
- Parent account email, display name, and sign-in provider (Apple, Google, email, or on-device)
- Family name and child profile details you enter (first name, optional grade or birth year, avatar)
- Class schedules, meeting links, addresses, travel minutes, and driver notes
- Attendance marks and fee payment records you enter
- Break and holiday date ranges and labels you enter (household-wide or for one child)
- A pause on one class: the date window, an optional reason, and whether fees keep accruing
- Subscription entitlement status (Free or Family)
On-device (local) mode keeps this data in a database on your phone. If you enable cloud sync, the same categories of data may be stored with our backend provider so you can restore a family across devices.
Paired kid devices
A paired tablet may store and sync only that child’s profile name and avatar, their class schedule, meeting URLs the parent entered, attendance the child confirms, and break labels that apply to them. It does not receive sibling profiles, fee ledgers, or other parents’ account details.
The child does not register with email, Apple, or Google. Pairing creates a limited device membership under parental control (not a separate child App Store account).
Attendance
Parents mark attendance. A paired device may also let the child confirm Present, Late, or Missed for their own sessions. Parents can change those marks. Cancels and makeup scheduling stay parent-only.
Notifications
With your permission, ClassPilot schedules local reminders.
- Parent devices: leave-by times, class starts, school notes, and fee due dates. Reminder content may include a child’s name and class name. A leave-by or pickup reminder goes to the parent assigned to that part of the trip. The other parent is not notified unless Also notify the other parent is turned on for that class, in which case they get one quiet notice.
- Paired kid devices: class-start / “time to join” reminders for that child only — not leave-by, fees, or other children’s classes.
Pausing a class
Pausing one class stores the date window, an optional reason, and whether fees hold or keep their usual schedule. Sessions in that window are hidden on Today and Calendar until the end date or until you resume. The class is not deleted.
Breaks & holidays
Labels and date ranges parents enter (for the whole household or one child) are family data used to hide sessions on those days in parent and kid schedules. Sessions do not appear for break days. Pay-per-class balances count only sessions that remain on the schedule. A monthly, six-month, or yearly amount is a scheduled pull and is not calculated from attendance.
Rewards on paired devices
Stickers and short celebrations when a child finishes today’s check-ins are on-device UI only. They are not shared socially and are not sold as personal data.
Payments
Recording a payment is a ledger you fill in. ClassPilot does not charge class tuition and does not connect to a bank. You confirm a payment after the school or provider has charged you. Pay-per-class and advance balances use sessions you mark. Monthly, six-month, and yearly plans are one scheduled amount.
Optional Family subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. A complimentary period, if offered, is an offer code or promo code redeemed in that store, not inside ClassPilot.
Feedback
Request a feature and Report a bug send the description you write, an optional contact email, the app version, and the device type (phone or tablet model and operating system). When you are signed in, ClassPilot files that as an issue on the project tracker. On a device-only account, the same details open in an email to classpilot@kitecodestudios.com.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Data is shared only with infrastructure providers needed to run sign-in, sync, or subscription verification, and when required by law.
Account deletion and unpair
You can delete your account and family data from Settings → Delete account. A parent can revoke a tablet pair from the child’s profile without deleting the whole family. If Sign in with Apple is used with a cloud account, we revoke associated tokens when server deletion is configured.
Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly allow children to create logins. Child profile data is entered by adults. Optional child photos stay under parental control. Store listings disclose child profile data entered by adults and that a paired device may process schedule and attendance for that profile under parental control.
